.....

Mom had a seizure yesterday caused by brain swelling. It seems the shunt they put in back in Feb. isn't fully working. The worst of the news is that the back of her head can't take any more surgeries. None. It's not even an option. We're going to treat it with steroids and maybe some radiation and a whole lot of prayers from everyone and see if that works.

For now, she isn't speaking coherently and she's unable to move her left side at all.

I wasn't going to write about her today...actually, I wasn't even going to say a word.

7 years of battling this shit, 7 years of her having her ups and down days physically is enough. She's finally tumor free and this happens. Makes a person question a lot of stuff, know what I mean?

But as my Mom's husband says.. "Mike, there's two things no one will ever be able to take from a man, hope and faith"

Pretty much says it all.

Ya'll be careful out there today.

Later.

Oh I'm so sorry Mike.

Your mom is in my prayers today. I pray for healing, for her strength, and for her spirit to press forward. You, I pray for inner strength and that you can somehow bring her joy when you talk to her and see her next.

Hugs to you,
Kdubs

Mike, I am really, really very sorry to hear about the turn your mom has taken. I think about her all the time, even though I never met her.

When my sister was diagnosed, my dad said to my husband, "Please pray for Laurianne, and if you can't pray, think lots of happy thoughts." Well, you have my prayers and my happy thoughts. I hope your mom pulls through. She sounds like a fighter.

Dear Mike, I am so sorry to hear about this latest report about your Mom.
Mom's husband is right, sometimes hope and faith is all we have to cling to.
When my Mom was so ill, I realized that I had to release her to God and trust him for the outcome. She was a woman of great faith, so I knew where she was coming from and where she was going.
Reading the Psalms helped me so much during this difficult time. I would even read them to my Mom when she was in the hospital. Here are some of my favorites:
Psalm 121.
Ps 116:1-2
Ps 118:6
Ps 95:6-7

You and your family are in my prayers today.

God Bless!

Mike. Know that so many are sending you positive thoughts and lifting your family up in prayer. Prayer works! You know I'm a walking, talking testimony to that. Don't let go of YOUR hope and faith!

I am glad you posted this. I am glad you decided to tell us. We need to know. We can't "help" if we don't know. Talk it out. This is your place to do it. Lord knows you've listened to me.

Sending His love and comfort to you and my thoughts, too.

My own Mama died in her sleep at age 91. She had been out to breakfast that morning with her friends. I lost two of my sisters to cancer. Long, slow, painful deaths. Last month I lost my third and last sister suddenly. She was only 66. She hadn't been sick at all, just had an aneursym and was gone. So I've seen death come to a loved one in different ways.

Your mother has suffered. You have suffered. I feel for you more than I can tell you. I wish with all my heart that your mother can enjoy peace and a new life free of pain soon.

Hope and faith are beautiful things. What does your faith tell you that you should hope for your mother? Pray for what is best for your mom. She deserves what's best.
